Apple is set to be working with Microsoft to enable support for controllers of Microsoft’s next-gen consoles Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S that recently went on sale worldwide. The news was confirmed in a document on Apple’s website that mentions the controllers that iPhones support.
The new controller may not have been as improved as the Dualsense PlayStation 5 controller but it is still an improvement over its predecessor. It may also be true that iOS 14.3 beta version already has the support to connect the new Xbox controllers as there have been reports that it has support for Sony’s Dualsense controller.
Apple may have not marketed the iPhones as devices that are capable of hardcore gaming until recently but even the ones that were launched two-three years ago are capable of running FPS games at ease. However, not everyone is satisfied with the touch controls and these gamers often resort to connect controllers and also mount them to game more effortlessly.
It can be a must-have accessory for those who opt for the iPhone 12 mini or have an older iPhone as they will be able to see more of the screen when connected to a controller. The controllers will be compatible with iPads as well.
Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles are currently available for Rs 34,999 and Rs 49,990. On the other hand, the iPhone 12 series retails at a starting price of Rs 69,990. Games who have already got their hands on iPhone 12 series or considering getting one may be elated to see that they don’t have to shell out extra money to get a controller with support for next-gen controllers already.

If you have never tried using a good joy stick in a PC game that has driving, like Need for Speed, TestDrive Unlimited, etc. you are missing out on a really fun, precision driving controller. I've used a Logitech MOMO Wheel/pedals set in the past and though it is excellent, you have to set it up each time and it actually is no better then a good joy stick if set up properly, although driving with a force feedback wheel with paddle shifters or shift stick and pedals for gas and brakes is lots of fun.
The problem is that many games are no longer supporting joy sticks and are more and more reverting to using the free Microsoft Xbox360 Windows Games system. If you try to use a Joy stick or wheel set in a game like this, you have to use a keyboard profiler like the free Joy-to-Key, or the $10 XPadder, or the $30 Pinnacle Profiler. These allow you to assign keyboard strokes to axis or buttons on the Joy stick or Wheel and though they all work well, they aren't able to handle axis movements like steering and throttle/brakes with out severe sensitivity issues. Even the Pinnacle Profiler, that does have a sensitivity adjustment can't handle the problem adequately in some games like Mafia II while trying to steer a car. Where as, using the Xbox360 profiler and assigning it's buttons to a joy stick gives very smooth steering and control. It's just a matter of figuring out how to do it as it's very complicated and I've found no clear instructions on any of the game forums.. even Thrustmaster had no solution, except to suggest a keyboard profiller.
I have a Thrustmaster T16000M Joy stick, the best stick I have found at a reasonable price and I use it for PC games like Over Flanders Fields, Rise of Flight, Wings of Prey, Wings of War, Test Drive Unlimited, Need for Speed, Mafia I etc. and all of these games work fine with their own setup assignments built in.
When I got Mafia II I was extremely disappointed to find that it only supports the Xbox360 game controller, but there is a way around this and once discovered, it works great:
Here is a step by step tutorial on how to set up your stick to work in Mafia II with the Xbox360 Profiler
I have Windows 7 64x and the Thrustmaster T16000M stick, but this will get you going if you have a different stick or even a wheel set.
Below is the transposed layout on the Joy stick. XBox360 buttons are in (parenthesis)
Remember that when you exit a car, these joy stick controls are used differently when walking.
ie: If you walk and push the stick forward you will be in the Aim mode. If you push the stick back you will fire your gun, etc.
I like using the mouse to walk, run etc., so I just don't touch the stick till I get in a car.
Hope this helps some of you.. [|;~. rabu
